Overview
We are looking for a skilled bridal seamstress in Hitchin to carry out wedding dress alterations and custom gown work. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced with delicate fabrics and bridal fittings.

 The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sewing and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all garments and textiles are crafted to the highest standards. This role involves working with various fabrics and materials such as chiffon, satin, Silk, and tule, contributing to the creation of bespoke clothing items, alterations, and repairs. The Seamstress will play a vital role in maintaining the quality and aesthetic of our products.

Responsibilities
The role involves working closely with the designer to ensure a perfect fit. You will be responsible for alterations, fittings, and detailed finishing on high-end bridal gowns and samples.

Responsibilities include:
_ Create sample gowns from tech packs
– Bridal dress alterations and fittings
– Working with lace, tulle, silk, and embellishments
– Customising gowns to client requirements
– Maintaining high-quality finishing standards

Requirements:
– Experience as a bridal seamstress or in formalwear
– Strong attention to detail
– Ability to meet deadlines
– Friendly and professional approach with clients

Construct seasonal collections in accordance with the designer's specifications.
Experience sewing delicate bridal materials such as chiffon, lace, satin & silk.
Operate sewing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain an organised workspace and ensure tools and materials are stored correctly.
Collaborate with designers or clients to understand their vision and requirements.
Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
Skills

Proficiency in operating various types of sewing machines.
Strong attention to detail and precision in stitching.
Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of different fabrics and their properties is advantageous.
Experience in pattern making or garment fitting is desirable but not essential.
